Three Premier League players Leeds United could sign

Leeds United have recently appointed manager Marcelo Bielsa. The saga went on for weeks but, finally, they’ve secured their man. Now he’s here the club can start to think out transfers in and out of the club. Here are three Premier League players Leeds United could sign.

Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson is a 21-year-old striker who currently plays for Liverpool. The Welsh international has ridiculous amounts of potential to become a top striker in the future. He scored an amazing ten goals in only 12 appearances for the Liverpool under 23’s in the first half of the last campaign. The Welshman then spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship Hull City. He scored an impressive seven goals in just 13 games for The Tigers but has returned to Anfield since.

Leeds never really managed to find a major goal threat like Harry Wilson last season which is exactly what they require to have any chance of forcing themselves into the top six. He’s been linked with Leeds United in the before but nothing has ever really developed. This could be the perfect signing for the West Yorkshire club.

Sam Vokes

Sam Vokes is a 28-year-old striker who plays for Premier League Burnley. Ever since Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes found their form in front of goal Vokes has been stuck on the subs bench. Vokes is without a doubt a top Championship striker who should be given regular starts. Vokes has 52 goals and 12 assists in 198 Championship appearances. The majority of these goals (35) came in both of Burnley’s 2013/14 and 2015/16 promotion seasons.

As harsh as it sounds, the Championship seems to be more at Sam Vokes level and he would undoubtedly score 20+ goals for Leeds given the right service. He’s a player that Leeds have a genuine chance of being able to attract to Elland Road should they go for him. He’s also the exact goal threat Leeds United need to get a step closer to the promotion they’ve been dreaming of for years.

Rajiv van La Parra

Van La Parra is a winger who currently plays for Huddersfield Town. The Dutchman has contributed to Huddersfield Town’s survival last season as well as their promotion the season before. At times this season, he’s seemed miles out of his depth in the Premier League and, like Sam Vokes, his level seems to be at the Championship. In 33 appearances last season he failed to get a single assist and only scored three goals. But his Championship record and his general contribution in Championship games is much better. In 108 appearances in the Championship, he’s got 16 assists and scored five goals.

At times he lacks an end product but Bielsa will surely get the best out of this man. He does have lots of potential but it just hasn’t been released fully yet. He’s played for Huddersfield and Wolves in the Championship during which he’s won promotion from the division which means he has the perfect experience at this level. On paper, he’s just what Leeds United have been screaming out for in the past.
