PSG to move for Championship star – £20m price tag reported

According to The Gazette Live, Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore has attracted interest from French Champions PSG. Journalist Alan Nixon has suggested the club have placed a price tag of £20m on the winger.

However, the midfielder supposedly has a £18m release clause the Gazette Live report and it’s thought that cash-rich PSG are prepared to meet that clause in order to bring the Middlesbrough star to France.

The former Barcelona man is no stranger to being at a big club and has been widely tipped with a big money move to the Premier League during this window after a fantastic season in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

Traore left Barcelona in search for regular first-team football and after a spell at Aston Villa in the Premier League on a deal worth around £7 million, he moved to Middlesbrough to stay in the top-flight however Boro’ only stayed in the Premier League for one season and he subsequently spent last year in the Championship.

Traore possesses clear skill and quality and is easily one of the best players in the Championship on his day, highlighting the fact that Barcelona clearly saw some talent in the winger.

There have been rumours circulating that PSG winger Neymar is set to move to Real Madrid during this transfer window and although these are only rumours at present, it could present some rationale as to why the French club are looking to secure the Middlesbrough wingers signature.

Traore would be a fantastic signing for a number of Premier League clubs, however, if PSG are in the running for the midfielder, it clearly demonstrates the quality he possesses and how fortunate Middlesbrough fans have been to watch him on a regular basis.
