Could Leeds United move to sign Phil Foden?

In a world where transfers often cost ludicrous amounts of money, the loan market often helps to keep many Championship clubs afloat and gives young Premier League talent the chance to progress in the division.

Leeds United are no different to any other Championship side and it’s quite possible that the West-Yorkshire side could move to sign Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden in the coming weeks.

New Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa boasts a healthy relationship with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and it’s quite possible in the coming weeks that he will use that link in order to push through a loan deal – or two.

With Manchester City boasting some of the most exciting young talent in the Premier League, it opens a wealth of options up to Leeds United to take in some of these young players and develop them. With the fact that Leeds boast one of the biggest clubs in the Football League, a young player would have the chance to thrive there and learn how to handle a weighty amount of expectation on their shoulders.

Phil Foden is a young talent who many want to see develop and become one of England’s star men in years to come. If he was to follow the route of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Harry Maguire and John Stones – all men who have featured in the Football League before progressing to reach England, it may heavily benefit him. Leeds United would be a great club for the young midfielder to gain some experience and to return to Manchester City as a more complete player.
