Nottingham Forest fans react to Stojkovic World Cup performance

Vladimir Stojkovic played 21 times for Nottingham Forest in the 2016/17 campaign, and he is now the first choice for the Serbian national team. Forest fans tuning in for the Costa Rica versus Servia World Cup match on Sunday meant they got the chance to see their former stopper in action. They have shared their views on Twitter.

The 34-year-old is now playing his football in Serbia with Partizan Belgrade, whom he joined on a free at the start of the previous season following his departure from the City Ground. Stojkovic also had a brief spell in English football earlier in his career with Wigan Athletic.

Forest supporters have been quick to share their views on the player. He didn’t necessarily set the world alight during his time with the two-time European Cup winners. Stojkovic was snapped up by now former manager Philippe Montanier in 2016. Of his 21 appearances for the club, 20 came in the Sky Bet Championship. His final appearance for the club was the 3-2 away defeat at Fulham back in February 2017.

Whilst he kept a clean sheet as Serbia opened up their World Cup campaign with a hard earned 1-0 victory over Costa Rica, the Forest fans were quick to spot some certain instances of the game which reminded them of the veteran goalie from his time with the club. Whilst he only played 21 times, he clearly made some kind of impression!
