OPINION: Could Jack Wilshere be on his way to Leeds United?

After Jack Wilshere of Arsenal hinted that he is looking to move away from The Gunners there are several clubs interested in him. Is there a chance Leeds United could make a surprise move for him following the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa?

It’s widely known that newly appointed Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has several links and contacts within Arsenal Football Club. Leeds United have already been linked with Arsenal players such as Edward Nketiah, Joesph Willock and, most notable of all, Reiss Nelson in recent days and weeks. Could Jack Wilshere be next?

Although it seems quite unlikely it’s certainly not an impossibility. Last summer transfer window Jack Wilshere was heavily linked with a move to Championship Birmingham City. The Royal Blues even offered him a massive £90,000 a week to sign. Although, he turned this down in order to pursue a starting place at Arsenal which never came for him.

It has become very clear that Jack Wilshere isn’t going to be part of Unai Emery’s plans for next season. This means that the Arsenal midfielder is looking for a new club. Could Marcelo Bielsa’s strong links and contacts within Arsenal be enough to convince Wilshere to join the West Yorkshire club? Whether it be on a permanent basis or a loan deal, the latter being the more realistic option, there’s no doubt Wilshere would have to at least consider this potential move given the size of Leeds United.
