German coach finally set for Bradford City job?

German coach Hannes Wolf could finally become Bradford City manager this week after months of speculation surrounding his possible appointment at The Northern Commercials Stadium at Valley Parade.

The 37-year-old former Stuttgart head coach has been out of work since being sacked by the Bundesliga club in January and he has long been linked with a move to Bradford City who are ran by German owners Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp.

The Bantams have revealed that they are poised to appoint a successor to former boss Simon Grayson later this week and German coach Wolf is the 11/8 favourite for the job according to English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

Wolf is said to have a similar style of management to those shown by fellow countrymen Jurgen Klopp and David Wagner who have already impressed since arriving in the English game. The former FC Nurnberg reserve team striker has previously coached within the Borussia Dortmund set-up just like Klopp and Wagner.

His first job in senior management at Stuttgart saw him guide the club to promotion from the 2.Bundesliga as champions in 2016/2017. Wolf left the Mercedes-Benz Arena earlier this year with an impressive 46.15% win rate.

Bradford City have spent the last five years in Sky Bet League One and have been frustrated in their attempts to return the second tier of the English game. The Bantams have finished in the top half of the table in every season but have come up short in the race for promotion.
