Bradford City are close to naming their new head coach, according to the Telegraph & Argus.
The Bantams have been in the hunt for a new manager since Simon Grayson left at the end of the season. They are now expected to name their choice early next week.
Darren Ferguson is the bookies’ favourite for the vacant position. He has recently left League One side Doncaster Rovers and is available. The son of Manchester United legend, Sir Alex Ferguson, has got three promotions on his CV, one with Doncaster from League Two and two others with Peterborough United from League One.
Another name in the frame is Scottish boss David Hopkin. He is now out of work after leaving Livingston last month. He guided them to back-to-back promotions from the Scottish League One to the Scottish Premier League, but decided his future lies away from them in the top flight.
A final name Bradford are considering is Paul Heckingbottom. He was sacked by Leeds United as they set their sights on Marcelo Bielsa. The former Barnsley boss could be considering a move to the Bantams as he looks to get back into management.
It is exciting times for Bradford fans at the moment with a new manager coming in. They are hoping for a promotion to the Championship next season and will be eagerly anticipating who their new head coach will be.
