Could Nottingham Forest pull a new mega money double deal?

It’s been widely rumoured that Nottingham Forest have been chasing Peterborough United forward Jack Marriott but reports today from the Derby Telegraph suggest that the striker could also be joined at the City ground by current teammate Marcus Maddison.

Forest could look to bring in both players on a double deal from Peterborough United – but it wouldn’t come cheap with Marriott valued at around £6.5 million alone. This would more than likely mean that both players would swap League One for the City Ground for fees that would be likely to stretch into eight digits, should both players chose to swap the Posh for Forest.

Forest have enjoyed a largely successful week, bringing in Diogo Goncalves on a season long-loan and new club-record signing Joao Carvalho from Nottingham Forest for around £13.2m with both players signing on from Portuguese giants Benfica.

Marriott and Maddison would offer Forest the chance to take two players who are seemingly far too good for League One, the capacity to develop and engineer a move through any value of a potential resale. Given the fact that ex-Posh and ex-Forest striker Britt Assombalonga made the same move to the City Ground and doubled his value, both players would know moving to Karanka’s Forest could offer them a great opportunity.

Peterborough United fans will be sweating over the next few months in hope that they won’t lose their star players to the Championship, given the fact that it will weaken their squad heavily ahead of the new campaign.
