Journalist Alan Nixon has said that Leeds players won’t be in pre season next Monday, which was the scheduled return and hints that it’s because of the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa.
According to Nixon, Leeds player’s were told to report back into training next week but this has now been delayed with his tweet “Leeds players won’t be in for early pre season training next Monday after all. Put back a week. Wonder what the significance of that is…”.
Could this be hinting towards Bielsa being appointed as manager of Leeds United very soon?
This ties in with the report by Phil Hay claiming that Leeds and Bielsa in ‘final mile’ of talks with Argentinian on the brink of accepting Elland Road job.

Bielsa is the former Argentina and Chile manager and is a highly-respected coach. His previous jobs have included some impressive achievements with the likes of Atletico Bilbao, Marseille and Lille, which makes this appointment a massive coup if Leeds can pull it off.
It is believed that he open to the idea of managing in the Championship ever since Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani sent officials to speak with him in South America last month.
The 62-year-old has spent a lot of time assessing the Leeds offer and further talks over the past 48 hours have pushed Leeds and Bielsa to the verge of an agreement to replace Paul Heckingbottom.
Reportedly, Bielsa and Leeds want to get this appointment done at the earliest opportunity and it’s believed that a salary package is already in place and should be completed very soon.
Could Bielsa be appointed as Leeds United manager as soon as the next few days?
