According to reliable Journalist John Percy of the Telegraph, Nottingham Forest could be about to make their club record signing tomorrow when Benfica’s Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho arrive in the UK tonight with the expectancy to sign a deal tomorrow.

It’s reported that Carvalho is set to become a record transfer deal for a fee of £13.2m at Nottingham Forest – which shows that Aitor Karanka’s Forest mean serious business this season.

The double-deal also sees Goncalves join on loan with Forest for the whole duration of the season and offers the club some extra firepower up-front that they’ve lacked since losing striker Britt Assombalonga to Middlesbrough.

Forest are looking to make a real statement this season in the Championship as the club targets to aim for a promotion push under the guidance of Karanka. The capture of Carvalho and Goncalves from Benfica shows their intent for this upcoming season and breaking the clubs transfer records shows that Forest are prepared to spend big in order to achieve success.

The duo are expected to sign at the City Ground tomorrow after completing medicals and as long as everything goes well, it appears that Forest fans have every reason to begin getting excited now for the upcoming Championship season in a few months time.
