Jack Grealish looks set to leave Aston Villa this summer after the Midlands club failed to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
Villa were beaten 1-0 by Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final, with Tom Cairney’s goal enough to send the Cottagers back to the top flight, and condemn Villa to the second tier.
To make matters worse for Steve Bruce and co, financial fair play looks set to hit them hard, with the club reportedly on the brink of administration.
Because of this, they will need to let some of their top players go, and Grealish is expected to be one of the first names out of the door.
He has always been billed as one of the brightest prospects in England, but he never really came out of his shell until this season, showing why he was so highly rated, and helping Aston Villa finish fourth in the Sky Bet Championship.
Whilst Villa will be sad to see the 22-year-old leave the club, they are expected to receive a large fee for Grealish, with talks of £40 million being paid.
Whilst it remains unclear exactly where Grealish will end up, Bet Victor have made Tottenham Hotspur clear favourites to secure his signature, giving him odds of evens.
Spurs will be playing in the Champions League next season after finishing third in the Premier League, and this would give Grealish the chance to show what he can do on the biggest club stage.
Spurs are a club that a consistently in Europe’s top club competition, and were beaten in the knockout stages by Italian giants Juventus in this season’s knockout rounds.
