Sheffield United are in talks with Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman and Kasey Palmer according to a report from the Yorkshire Post.
The Blades are coming off the back of a great season. Upon their return to the Sky Bet Championship they surprised many by challenging for a place in the play-offs and while their form took a downturn towards the end of the year, their fans were still very happy with what happened. And with head coach Chris Wilder’s future at the club secured, they are now looking to improve the squad ahead of next season.
And they are in talks about signing two Chelsea players ahead of next season. Blackman is already very familiar to United fans as he spent last season on loan with the club and became their number one goalkeeper. Both parties have made it clear that they want a move to happen, with Blackman being frustrated that first team opportunities aren’t coming to him at Chelsea, but previous reports have indicated that his wages may be an issue in any potential move.
As well as Blackman though, United are hoping to sign Palmer from Chelsea. He is seen as one of the Blues top youngsters and has already played in the Championship. He had a successful loan spell with Huddersfield Town, helping them to get promoted to the Premier League. His second spell however didn’t go as well as he struggled to get into their first team. He then went on loan to Derby County and helped to get them into the play-offs but could not get two promotions in a row.
