Cardiff City closing in on signing Norwich City winger

Cardiff City are closing in on a move for Norwich City winger Josh Murphy for a fee in excess of £10 million, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

Cardiff are eager to bolster their squad as they prepare for life in the Premier League next season. Their manager, Neil Warnock , is believed to be a fan of Norwich’s Josh Murphy.

The 23-year-old has also attracted attention from Premier League duo Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham. However, the Bluebirds are hoping to have an edge over them in the race for him as they would offer him guaranteed first-team action.

Murphy impressed for the Canaries last season and scored 11 goals in all competitions. They could cash in on him this summer for the right price. Murphy’s twin brother, Jacob, left Norwich last summer to join top flight outfit Newcastle United.

Murphy joined Norwich in 2006 as a youngster and rose through the youth ranks at Carrow Road. He has played over 100 games for their first-team and has also had loan spells at Wigan Athletic and MK Dons already in his career.

He has also represented England at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 level. Murphy is still regarded as one for the future at Norwich City and it is taking a hefty price for Cardiff to lure him away from Carrow Road.

Signing Josh Murphy would be a decent acquisition for Cardiff and one for their fans to look forward to.
