Galatasaray keen on loan deal for Stoke City midfielder

Galatasaray want to re-sign Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye on loan next season, according to the Turkish news outlet Hurriyet.

The Potters could allow the deal to happen as they look to prepare for life in the Championship next season. Ndiaye is part of Senegal’s team for the World Cup and hopes to put himself in the shop window.

Ndiaye joined Stoke in January from Galatasaray and they now want to bring him back. The Potters paid £14 million to land him but he could not prevent them from being relegated. He played 13 games for them and scored twice.

The 27-year-old started his career in Senegal with Diambars and was snapped up by Norwegian side FK Bodø/Glimt in 2012. He was impressive for them and scored 31 goals for them in 113 games.

Ndiaye then made the move to Russia to join Osmanlıspor for around €300,000. He played for them for two years and 18 goals in 75 games. His ability to score goals from midfield and this attracted the attention of Galatasaray last summer as they paid €7.5 million for his signature.

Stoke’s £14 million bid for him in January was too much for the Turkish giants to turn down. They will feel they did not see the best of Ndiaye in his five months at the club. He only played 17 games for them, however, he could be set for a shock return on loan over the coming months.
