Bolton Wanderers are plotting a swoop to sign Blackburn Rovers’ Danny Graham according to a report from journalist Alan Nixon.
The 32-year-old striker signed for Blackburn back in 2016 and he has been a great player for them since. His goals may not have stopped the Lancashire club from dropping into Sky Bet League One but they definitely got them out of the division this season. He scored 17 goals in 48 appearances and was a big reason why Blackburn finished second in the division this season.
However Graham’s contract is set to expire this summer and while Blackburn are in talks to sign him to a new deal, there is a risk he could leave. And to make things worse for Blackburn, he could end up heading to their Lancashire rivals Bolton. After staying up in the Sky Bet Championship this season, Bolton are looking to strengthen their squad to try and avoid getting involved in another battle against relegation. And with Graham’s proven ability to score, they think snapping him up would be a good move.
However any Blackburn fans worried about losing Graham can rest easy as there are a number of facts which suggest he is most likely going to stay at Ewood Park. While they are in talks about a new contract, Blackburn could still activate a clause in his contract which would keep him there for another year. And he is on high wages which with Bolton’s financial situation still not being great, they might not be able to afford him.
