Bolton Wanderers have signed Jason Lowe from Birmingham City on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.
After managing to stay in the Sky Bet Championship upon their return to the league, Bolton are now looking to push up the league and make sure they don’t have any threat of getting relegated. And they have made their first signing of the season with the arrival of player they believe could help them in that aim. This player is Lowe who has signed a two-year contract with the club.
While Lowe was most recently at Birmingham where he only made nine appearances in a year, he is most noted for his time with Bolton’s Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers. He came through their academy and would make 173 appearances before leaving after they were relegated last season. But with Blackburn returning to Lancashire, Lowe will not play in this derby on the other side.
After signing for Bolton he said: “It’s great to be here. The club has a lot of history and loads of my friends support them. I’m excited to be here and looking forward to getting going.”
“There’s a great fan base here and I hope we can give them something to shout about this coming season.”
His new head coach Phil Parkinson added: “I’m really pleased to be welcoming Jason to Bolton Wanderers Football Club. He’s at a good age and is a player who has captained teams before in the Championship.”
“He knows his way around the division and has good leadership qualities.”
