Leeds United face double Serie A battle over transfer target

According to Italian source Calciomercato.com, Leeds United faced a double Serie A battle over Venezia midfielder Leo Stulac.

Stulac was ‘linked’ with the Whites by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who had a lot to say about the 23-year-old Slovenian midfielder. According to Pedulla, Leeds United have been “particularly impressed by the performances of Stulac.

Leeds were said when ‘interest’ arose to be facing a battle with Italian side Genoa, who also remain interested in the young Slovenian. With this transfer tug-o-war in mind, today’s announcement that Bologna are also interested could present Leeds United with another ‘deal’ headache to contend with.

Already Whites fans are getting itchy fingers and palpitations about the twin fears that deals for talented Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez and world-class manager Marcelo Bielsa will fall through. This happening would create a chasm of disappointment for fans to comprehend ahead of a season where they’ll demand higher expectations than the last campaign.

With those headaches lurching to potential hangovers, Leeds can easily do without Bologna ‘interest’ leading to any hiccups or football spanners in the works. Whilst United are well stocked in the middle of the park, the addition of youngster Stulac might add a touch of finesse.

The young defensive midfielder might have age on his side, but he does have experience as well. He featured in 93 Prva Liga games former side FC Koper, scoring eight goals and providing six assists. In his first season in Serie B, he has played 20 games for Venezia, scoring six times and laying on four assists.

Leeds United are yet to make a signing in the transfer window, which opened earlier this year for EFL clubs to bring them in to line with their Premier League neighbours.
