Birmingham City youngsters sign on for further 12 months

Highly-rated young Birmingham City duo Adam Siviter and Josh Martin have extended their deals at St Andrews for a further 12 months according to Birmingham Live.

Both players have been on the books at St Andrews for several years and have successfully graduated from the Blues academy system.

It has been reported that the players have signed one-year deals with Birmingham City while the club hold options to extend both contracts by a further 12 months if the pair continue to impress at the Sky Bet Championship club.

Goalkeeper Siviter has starred for the Blues’ Under-18 side this season as they recorded a mid-table finish. The 17-year-old has spent almost six years in the club’s academy and is set to make the step up to the Development Squad next season.

Fellow scholar Martin has featured heavily for Birmingham City’s Under-23 side this season and could push for first team honours during the next 12 months. The defender missed just three league games for the Development Squad as he continued his progression towards senior honours. Martin was given a first team squad number at St Andrews at just 15 years of age but is yet to make his first team debut for the club.

Birmingham City were FA Youth Cup semi-finalists last season and were defeated by eventual winners Chelsea.
