Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson has revealed that he is unsure of where his future lies as he returns to the Yorkshire club after a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers.
The 27 year old joined the Whites in 2016 for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £2m.
He only managed one goal in his first season in English football and was restricted to just 16 appearances all season.
Last campaign Antonsson found himself on loan at Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers in need of regular first team football.
The striker featured 31 times in the league for Rovers, scoring seven goals, helping the club gain instant promotion back to the second tier.
However, after the expiration of his loan, the Swede has admitted that he is not sure where his future lies next season.
Speaking to Expressen, Antonsson said: “I assume I’m Leeds player and I will of course give everything from the first day until something else happens – if something happens. More than that is hard to say. There are still many question marks.
“I do not close any doors at all. It can be anything but I assume I’m Leeds player when I get back and drive out of it.”
Leeds struggled for goals last summer with only two players, in Kemar Roofe and Pierre Michel Lasogga, hitting double figures.
With no manager currently in place at Elland Road, it seems we will have to wait a while longer until the fate of Antonsson is revealed.
