Oliver Sorg, Hannover 96- He was not a first-team regular for Hannover and could be allowed to leave them for the right price. Stendel knows the German defender well from Hannover and may be tempted to bring him to Oakwell to boost his defence. Sorg has played for Freiburg in the past.
David McGoldrick- He is in the hunt for a new club after being released by Ipswich Town at the end of the season. The 30-year-old would be ideal for Barnsley as he has proven in the past that he is a goal scorer at League One level.
