Leeds United in talks with 36 goal striker

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are in talks with ex-Hull City striker Abel Hernandez, settling what seems to be recent speculation that the West-Yorkshire club were keen to bring the Uruguayan to Elland Road.

Hernandez has scored 36 goals in 99 appearances for Hull City and has scored 11 goals in 27 international appearances for Uruguay and he would be a great signing for Leeds United.

The striker would fit perfectly into a Leeds United side that could be managed by Marcelo Bielsa in the coming weeks with the Argentinian leading the betting markets by some way as a favourite to take the managerial hotseat at Elland Road. Given the fact the Bielsa is a big fan of attacking, expansive football, a striker such as Hernandez would fit perfectly into his side at Elland Road.

It’s not been disclosed as to what stage contract talks are at – since the striker left Hull City but it has been suggested that the striker would be keen to play under Bielsa, should he take the job at Elland Road. This is really positive news for Leeds United fans who have recently been getting concerned about the lack of progress with Bielsa, given what a fantastic coup the Argentine would be if he was to take the managerial job.

Hernandez would be a fantastic signing and his pace, goalscoring ability and his proven record in the Championship and Premier League suggest he has everything to be an ideal signing to try and help Leeds United gain promotion into the Premier League.
