Five players Hull City could sign to replace Abel Hernández

Abel Hernández is leaving Hull City at the end of his contract and the Tigers have big boots to fill. Here are five players who they could sign to replace him-

Charlie Wyke, Bradford City- The 25-year-old has scored 21 goals for the Bantams in all competitions since joining them in January 2017. He had previously played for Carlisle United, where he scored 39 goals in 89 games for them in League Two. Wyke is proven in the lower leagues and would be a good option for Hull City.

Tom Bradshaw, Barnsley- He could become available this summer following Barnsley’s relegation to League One. He has scored a combined 20 goals in the past two seasons for the Tykes in the Championship and could fill the gap left by Hernandez’s departure from Hull. Bradshaw’s goal scoring record have earned him 3 caps for the Wales national team.

Danny Ward, Cardiff City- His chances at Cardiff City could become limited in the Premier League next season. He only played 20 games for them in the Championship this campaign after joining them from Rotherham United. Ward bagged 12 goals for a relegated Rotherham side in the 2016/17 season and would offer Hull something different going forward.

James Wilson, Manchester United- The 22-year-old forward has spent time on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, Derby County and Sheffield United from Manchester United and is another player the Tigers could sign. He is a potential loan option for Hull if their owners, the Allams, are not prepared to spend any money on new players.

Lys Mousset, Bournemouth- Like Wilson, Mousset could become available for loan. Mousset would offer Hull a similar option to Hernandez as he is quick but does not have the same goal scoring record. Since joining Bournemouth in 2016, he has only scored 3 goals in 43 games in the Premier League. However, the 22-year-old could find his feet in the Championship.
