Hernandez, Leeds United target confirms he is leaving current club

Leeds United target confirms he is leaving current club

Leeds United have been given a boost as target Abel Hernandez has confirmed that he is leaving Hull City as per the club website.

Hernandez was a massive signing for Hull after he moved to them for a club record fee of £10m back in 2014. He initially struggled with English football but he made himself into a star after they were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship. He was a key reason why they returned to the top tier at the first attempt though he was unable to stop them being relegated again. This season he didn’t feature much but performed well when he did, scoring eight goals in 10 games.

And now his time at Hull is coming to an end with the club website confirming that he has turned down a contract offer from the Tigers and will now leave the club at the end of his contract. And this is a huge boost for Leeds who have been interested in signing him this summer. Even though they aren’t sure who their new manager is going to be, Hernandez has been listed as top target and this news will be a huge boost for them.

But Leeds aren’t the only team who are in the chase to sign Hernandez. Recently Newcastle United joined the race and they will be looking to snap up the Uruguayan international. But if the West Yorkshire side can complete this deal, not many would argue against the fact it’s one of the coups of the summer.
