Wolves, Manchester United and others shot down in pursuit of Brazilian star

Accord to Portuguese publication Record, Wolves and Manchester United were amongst a host of others chasing Benfica starlet Anderson Talisca. However they stand to be disappointed by interest from elsewhere.

Wolves are said to have been long-term admirers of the Brazilian who has spent the last two seasons on loan from Benfica to Turkish side, who have chosen not to take up the option to sign him permanently.

According to talkSPORT on Friday, Serie A giants Roma entered the arena and joined Liverpool and Arsenal in challenging Wolves for the signing of Talisca.

Mentioning that Talisca’s future “is unclear following the completion of his two-year loan at Besiktas”, talkSPORT went on to say that a permanent sale is likely to be seen at some point soon.

There was Twitter chattering that Manchester United were also in for him but Record’s article ,short though it is, lays flat all these claims. They admit that through “information gathered by our newspaper” there is real “interest of Premier League clubs,” but that no English club has put forward any kind of proposal or deal.

To this end, it seems that the likes of Wolves, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal will miss out – and to surprising interest. Record say that the talented Talisca will “continue his career in China” and that two sides, Beijing Guoan and Changchun Yatai, have stated an interest.

Not only have they stated an interest in the exciting Brazilian, but that “either is willing to reach the 35 million euros [£30.6 million]” fee that Benfica deem acceptable for a permanent deal.

As of this moment, Talisca is on holiday and had not signed any deal, perhaps leaving the door open for others to state their interests and clear intentions.
