Two huge Leeds transfer targets that will be boosted massively if Bielsa arrives

If the unthinkable happens and Marcelo Bielsa joins as Leeds United manager then the transfer situation will take off massively. The draw of Leeds United will have been increased tenfold and two specific targets will be boosted for very different reasons.

The first of the two transfer targets is Angus Gunn of Manchester City. Norwich City fans are convinced he’s heading to the Premier League. In all fairness they have every right to think that given his ability and performances last season. When I say Premier League I don’t mean a return to Manchester City I mean a loan somewhere. The arrival of Marcelo Bielsa would mean that Pep Guardiola’s mentor and his opinion of the best manager in World football would be a short trip over the Pennines.

Guardiola’s comments about Bielsa are quite staggering and if Leeds United want Angus Gunn and Guardiola knows he will be under the eye of the best coach in the world then surely he will want that to happen. Gun would probably be promised first-team football despite the rise of Northern Ireland international Baily Peacock-Farrell. The thought of Bielsa ringing pep and saying, “do me a favour and lend me a few of your youngsters” is something that is more than possible if this happens and Gunn maybe one who Pep sends to help his mentor on football.

The second deal is Abel Hernandez. Clearly Leeds United have offered him a half decent deal otherwise the club wouldn’t even bother and if he wasn’t interested they wouldn’t have even entertained it. The draw of Leeds United wasn’t great when it was offered though. A mid-table Championship club with Paul Heckingbottom as the head-coach and little in the way of funding. An investment from the San Francisco 49ers followed by the appointment of South American coach Bielsa may well convince Hernandez this is the place to come.
