West Ham and Watford lead the race for West Brom striker

Premier League sides West Ham United and Watford are the current favourites to secure the signature of West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon, according to odds given by bookmakers Bet Victor.

The two London clubs are currently at 6/1 to sign the Venezuela international, who suffered relegation from the Premier League with the Baggies in the 2017/18 season.

There is a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the club, provided that someone is able to meet the £16 million valuation of him.

Cardiff City and Aston Villa are both also reportedly interested in Rondon, and have been given odds of 8/1.

Cardiff have been linked with the striker for a number of weeks now after they secured promotion back to the Premier League on the final day of the regular Sky Bet Championship season.

The chances of Aston Villa signing him are extremely slim following their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

The Midlands club have already confirmed they will have to cut back their spending, and even let a few players leave the club in order to adhere to the financial fair play regulations.

Salomon Rondon joined West Brom back in 2015, completing the move from Russian top flight side Zenit St Petersburg for a fee believed to be in the region of £12 million.

He has played 100 games in the top flight for the Baggies, but has only scored 24 goals. That being said, his experience at both club an international level could prove valuable to whoever manages to sign him.
