Former Leeds United boss tipped for Elland Road return

Former Leeds United manager Simon Grayson could be in line with a shock return to Elland Road, and has been given odds of 12/1 to become the next manager of the football club.

Leeds are currently on the lookout for a new manager after Paul Heckingbottom was let go from his role after failing to turn round the fortunes of the club.

The former Barnsley boss only moved to Elland Road back in March, taking over from Thomas Christiansen after the Spaniard failed to deliver on Andrea Radrizzani’s expectations.

After the Italian owner completed his takeover of the club from his compatriot Massimo Cellino last summer, he had targeted a top six finish in the Sky Bet Championship, and consequently a place in the end of season Play-Offs.

The season started brilliantly for Leeds United, and they were top after seven games, leaving many fans hopeful that this was the year.

It was not to be, and their season totally petered out, leaving the Whites with a 13th place finish in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Their search for a new manager is bound to be an intense one, with Leeds fans demanding this appointment to be the right one following a string of unsuccessful bosses at the helm.

And it seems that we could see one of their former bosses return, with Simon Grayson currently fourth favourite to become their new manager.

Grayson has been out of a job for a number of weeks now after he decided he would not see through the rest of his contract at Bradford City.

Prior to his time at Bradford, Grayson has been in charge at both Sunderland and Preston North End.
