Premier League winner linked with Leeds United

Leeds United’s search for a manager is well underway following the departure of Paul Heckingbottom, who was let go from his position yesterday (June 01).

The former Barnsley boss joined the Whites back in March, replacing Thomas Christiansen who was sacked after failing to live up to Andrea Radrizzani’s expectations.

The Italian owner had targeted a top six finish in his first season at the helm following the completion of his takeover last summer.

And despite a fantastic start to the season, it was not to be, and Christiansen left the club in February.

Since Heckingbottom’s arrival, things have not really turned around, and he has now paid the price for that with the loss of his job.

However, the names being linked with the Leeds United manager’s job will excite supporters at Elland Road, with a number of high profile names being linked.

One of the names on the list is Claudio Ranieri, who was originally linked with the job last summer following the departure of Garry Monk.

The Italian manager is currently second favourite to take charge at Elland Road, and has been given odds of 4/1 to become the new manager of Leeds United.

Ranieri is well known in England, following his spell at Premier League side Chelsea in the early 2000s, but he is best known for his time at Leicester City.

Against all odds, he led the Foxes to the 2015/16 Premier League title, which is to this day one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time.

He is an extremely experienced manager, and his appointment at Elland Road would be a fantastic one for the club.
