It has been no secret over the past few weeks that Leeds United are looking to sign a brand new striker this summer, and they may have just received a promising boost over their pursuit of one proven Sky Bet Championship front man.
The Whites have been linked with a move for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez for a number of weeks now, and in fact they are odds on with many bookmakers to secure his signature.
They face competition from fellow second tier side Aston Villa, with Premier League club Newcastle United and recently crowned Sky Bet Championship winners Wolverhampton Wanderers also linked with a move for the Uruguayan striker.
Hernandez’s contract at current club Hull expires at the end of June, and it seems there is no interest from either party in renewing the deal.
That claim is supported by Abel Hernandez’s latest post on Twitter. The 27-year-old posted a video montage of his time at Hull City, showing all his highlights, including promotion back to the Premier League and a number of his top class goals.

It appears that this video is a parting message to Hull City fans, thanking them for everything they have done during his time at the club.
This can only be seen as good news for Leeds United, who lead the race to sign him as it stands.
If the Yorkshire club do miss out on Hernandez, there are plenty of other options. Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott has been a long time target for the Elland Road club, and although he will cost somewhere in the region of £6.5 million, his wages will be a lot cheaper than those of Abel Hernandez.
