Sheffield United manager reveals what they are looking for this transfer window

Sheffield United head coach Chris Wilder has told the club website that he is looking to add quality to his squad this transfer window.

The Blades are coming off the back of an impressive return to the Sky Bet Championship. They challenged for a spot in the play-offs all year and while they missed out, they will still be very happy with what they were able to do this season. But they can’t stand still this summer. The Championship gets harder every year and the club need to add more players this summer if they want to compete at the top of the table again.

And Wilder has said that they are already working on signing players ahead of next season. And with the club already having a lot of good players, he has said they are concentrating on adding quality to the first team so they can stay in the promotion picture.

He said: “We’ve been looking at it for a while now and now we’ve got a number to work to, but as I’ve always said and done, I will get the maximum out of that number.”

“We’re looking for quality additions now, we’re not going to be making big changes, given a lot of players have got that last year under their belt.”

“The likes of Fleck, Stevens, O’Connell, Evans, Brooks, Lundstram will all be better for a season in the division and if we add a bit more to it then we will be in a stronger position.”
