Five players Aston Villa could sign to replace Robert Snodgrass

Robert Snodgrass is set to return to West Ham after his loan spell at Aston Villa has come to an end. Here are five players Villa could sign to replace him-

Kamil Grosicki, Hull City- The Tigers may offload the Poland international this summer to free up funds meaning he could become available. He scored 9 goals for Hull in the Championship this season and is an option for Villa to sign to fill the gap left by Snodgrass’ departure.

Sammy Ameobi, Bolton Wanderers- The right-winger has impressed for the Trotters in the last campaign and played a key role in their survival in the Championship. His contract is due to expire next month and he will currently become a free agent. Ameobi will be a man in demand if he does not sign a new deal with Bolton.

Jarrod Bowen, Hull City- The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene at Hull City and scored 15 goals in his breakthrough season with the Tigers. He would be a good long-term option for Aston Villa, whose manager Steve Bruce signed Bowen for Hull from Hereford in 2014 so will know all about him.

Ben Woodburn, Liverpool- He is highly-rated by Liverpool and would be a shrewd loan signing for Aston Villa. It is likely that the Reds will loan the 18-year-old winger out this summer so he can gain some first-team experience. He has already played for Wales’ senior side and would provide Villa with more attacking options.

Patrick Roberts, Manchester City- The former Fulham winger has spent the past two seasons on loan at Celtic but will return to Manchester City this summer. It is unlikely that he will be in their first-team plans so he could be loaned out again. Although Villa will be at a disadvantage as they will be in the Championship, they should still try and bring him to Villa Park.
