Five players Jack Ross could sign for Sunderland

Jack Ross has been appointed manager of Sunderland on a two-year deal. He left St Mirren to take charge of the Black Cats. Here are five players he could sign-

Hakeeb Adelakun, Scunthorpe United- Sunderland will be hoping to gain promotion from League One next season and Adelakun would be a decent signing for them. The winger has experience of playing at this level and got to the Play-Offs with Scunthorpe this season. He has been linked with the Black Cats over recent days.

Lewis Morgan, Celtic- The promising winger spent last season on loan at St Mirren from Celtic under Jack Ross. He scored 14 league goals to help fire St Mirren back to the Scottish Championship. He will return to Celtic Park this summer but could Ross be tempted to try and sign him on loan for Sunderland?

Stevie Mallan, Barnsley- Ross knows the 22-year-old midfielder from managing him at St Mirren. He joined Barnsley in May 2017 but has found chances hard to come by there. Jack Ross managed to get the best out of Mallan at St Mirren and could offer him an escape route out of Oakwell with Sunderland.

Lee Robinson, Dunfermline Athletic- The experienced shot stopper has been linked with a move to Sunderland over the past month. The Black Cats are in need of a new goalkeeper to provide more depth and Ross will know all about Robinson from his expertise in Scotland. The 31-year-old has previously played for the likes of Rangers, Kilmarnock and Raith Rovers.

Clayton Donaldson- The 34-year-old striker is in the hunt for a new club and would be ideal for Sunderland. Donaldson, formerly of Brentford and Birmingham City, was released by Sheffield United at the end of the campaign. He has a decent goal scoring record and is an option for Ross.
