Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon is being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur as they look to make him one of their marquee signings according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Sessegnon had his break out year in 2017 but this season has been amazing for the 18-year-old. After switching to being a left winger after predominantly being a left-back the season before, he has devastated many defences in the Sky Bet Championship with his pace and ability to score goals from the wing. This season he scored 16 goals in 15 appearances and was also voted as the 2nd Best Player in the EFL in our Top 50 Players countdown.
Fulham are used to resisting interest from Sessegnon ever since he broke through into the first team but it looks like they are going to get an onslaught of bids from Tottenham this summer. They have been big fans of him for a while now and will be looking to do all they can to sign him this year. They are planning to make three marquee signings this season and Sessegnon is slated to be one of them alongside Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.
Sessegnon’s future may end up depending on the result that Fulham get tomorrow at Wembley. They play Aston Villa in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final tomorrow and getting promoted to the Premier League would make it a lot easier to keep Sessegnon. However if they fail to beat Villa they may be helpless to stop the Frenchman from heading to Tottenham.
