Wolves young starlet attracting Premier League interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Cameron John is on the radar of a host of Premier League and Championship clubs, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Brighton and Hove Albion, Stoke City, and Norwich City are all interested in signing the youngster.

The 18 year old has impressed in Wanderers U23 side this term, but the excellent form of the first team has meant that John’s path to the first team has been blocked.

The performances from the likes of Willy Boly and Conor Coady have seen them dominate the heart of the Wolves back line.

Boly will join the club on a permanent deal during the summer window, so John will find a place in the starting eleven even harder to come by in the Premier League.

The Frenchman scored three goals for the club last season and was voted in the PFA Championship Team of the Year as he helped Wolves win the league by nine points.

A move away from Molineux could see his first team involvement increase and would further progress his development.

John is a centre back who can also play on the left hand side of defence, and his versatility is just one of the attributes that make him an attractive proposition for opposing managers.

The Wolves man, who was a mainstay in the youth team, made 13 appearances in the development league this season and impressed the onlooking scouts on a number of occasions.

It appears that John has a bright future in the game, but it looks like he will be playing his football away from the Midlands next season.
