Which managers could Ipswich Town target if Ross chooses Sunderland?

St Mirren boss Jack Ross has been linked with the Ipswich Town vacancy but now looks set to join Sunderland, according to the Shields Gazette.

The Tractor Boys are in the hunt for a new manager to replace Mick McCarthy but will have to look elsewhere from Ross. Here are five other managers they could target now-

Paul Hurst, Shrewsbury Town- The highly-rated manager has done an excellent job with Shrewsbury Town this season. His side are playing in the League One Play-Off final this weekend for a place in the Championship against Rotherham United. Hurst, who has also previously managed Boston United and Grimsby Town, would be ideal for Ipswich.

Chris Coleman- He is available after being sacked by Sunderland at the end of the season. He deserves another chance in the Championship and is a decent option for Ipswich. Coleman guided Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Scott Parker- The former England international has been linked as an outsider for the job. Ex-players like Steven Gerrard and Joey Barton have been handed managerial roles recently and is Parker another who could get a job?

Tim Sherwood- The experienced boss is out of work at the moment and is another option for Ipswich. He has previously managed Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. It will be interesting to see what his next career move will be.

Simon Grayson- He is out of work now and is an outsider for the Ipswich job. Grayson has previously managed Blackpool, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Preston North End, Sunderland and Bradford City in the past. The 48-year-old is also being linked with vacant Barnsley job at the moment.
