Leeds United linked target to move to ‘English second league’

According to Bild, Union Berlin left back Kristian Pedersen is set to leave the club and move to the English second division (Sky Bet Championship). Recently, the player was touted as a possible transfer target for Leeds United, also by Bild.

Paul Heckingbottom is believed to be on the lookout for a new player to fill this position, which has been something of a problem area since his appointment. Tom Pearce has been offered a new contract to remain at Elland Road, but it is unclear if he will still be on the books next season.

Even the likes of Stuart Dallas played in this position last season, which suggests the need to add reinforcements. Union Berlin have seemingly resigned themselves to losing the 23-year-old Dane, who made 33 appearances for the club in 2. Bundesliga last season. Gaetano Berardi is the current first choice Leeds have in this position, but his disciplinary record last season left a lot to be desired. Laurens De Bock has been a major disappointment since signing from Club Brugge as well.

It is expected to be a busy summer at Elland Road, with Heckingbottom looking to make his own stamp on the squad, after inheriting a side in poor form, and was unable to turn that around in the remaining games. His future alone has been a talking point as well, but it looks as though as will indeed be remaining in charge. News that he is plotting new recruits would suggest that is the case.
