Derby County are searching for a new manager with current boss Gary Rowett having left his role to join Sky Bet Championship-bound club Stoke City.
BBC Sport have announced the move with Rowett replacing Paul Lambert who left Stoke City earlier this month following The Potters’ relegation from the English Premier League.
Derby County must now look to appoint their fifth manager in just two years. Rowett’s departure has left a bitter taste in the mouths of The Rams fans and they have taken to Twitter to vent both their fury and frustration at the situation.
I wish Gary Rowett all the best at Stoke. Very disappointed it has come to an end but an absolute no brainer for him. Leaves a badly run club with zero ambition and no direction to join a bigger club with lots of potential. Truth hurts for us #DCFC fans

My mother in law used to work at DCFC shop and she said Rowett was a snake and a money grabber. Didn't believe her. I said 'he has history with Derby he wants to be at Derby.' For once she was right.

Problem is the vast majority of fans backed Rowett and believed everything he said, going to be hard for the new manager to gain the same level of trust from supporters #dcfc

This isn’t Mel’s fault. He’s made mistakes in the past but I firmly believe that Rowett had his full backing and support. Unfortunately I suppose this is karma for the many sackings by MM prior to this. #dcfc #dcfcfans

Gary Rowett is quickly gaining a bad reputation and he hasn't won anything to back himself up with. He has to get Stoke promoted this season. Risky game to play, Sir. #dcfc

Feel very very betrayed tonight as a Derby fan, Gary had most of our backing and he said all the right things along the way. No respect for the man anymore. #dcfc #dcfcfans

Rowett was appointed manager of Derby County in March 2017 and won 43.33% of his matches in charge of The Rams. The East Midlands outfit were defeated by Fulham in this season’s Play-Off semi-finals.
