Wolves plot double raid on Marseilles

Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning a double swoop on Europa League finalists Marseilles, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.

Wolves are already preparing for life back in the Premier League, and want to get their January business underway with the signings of Bouna Sarr and midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa from the French club.

After winning the title in the Championship, they will no look to add to their squad to ensure a successful first season back in England’s top flight.

Both have impressed during Marseilles run in the Europa League, and they both look likely to be sold during the transfer window – and Wolves look set to go after the pair.

Wolves are not alone in their pursuit of Zambo Anguissa who is also attracting interest from Everton, Southampton and Newcastle.

Therefore, Nuno will have a battle on his hands if he wants to bring the midfielder to Molineux.

The 22-year-old is a Cameroon international, and has made 80 appearances over two seasons for the French side.

He could be seen as a direct replacement for star man Ruben Neves, should the Portuguese exit the Midlands during the summer.

Sarr is a 26-year-old right back, who could be drafted in to add to the squad depth at Wanderers.

He has played on 75 occasions for Marseilles since his move from Metz in 2015, scoring two goals.

He is yet to be capped by the French National team, but a move to the Premier League could see that quickly change.

Wolves need reinforcements this transfer window, and the signing of this duo could kick-start their business.
