Bristol City, West Brom and Wigan Athletic in chase for Fleetwood Town midfielder

Bristol City, West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic are in a chase to sign Fleetwood Town’s Kyle Dempsey according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old midfielder was on loan at Fleetwood before his impressive performances earned him a permanent contract with the club last summer. Even though the Cod Army didn’t do as well this season as they ended up stuck in mid-table, Dempsey still performed well and was one of their better performers this season. Unfortunately this has seen him be noticed by teams higher up in the league ladder.

Three teams are interested in signing Dempsey and could make a move for him later in the transfer window. Bristol City are looking to add more players to their squad after getting close to the Sky Bet Championship play-offs this season. West Brom have been relegated to the Championship and new head coach Darren Moore is looking to shape the squad in his own image after his own appointment and Wigan Athletic need new quality players to make sure they stay in the Championship following their promotion. This could be a tough battle to sign Dempsey as all three teams prepare to make moves for him.

Dempsey started his career at Carlisle United with his impressive form there earning him a move to Huddersfield Town. Unfortunately he struggled to break into the first team there and after a loan spell with Fleetwood, he ended up moving to Lancashire on a full-time basis and he got back to the form which made him a top star at Carlisle.
