Wolves set to miss out on key transfer target

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of talented Brazilian attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca.

The manager of Turkish side Besiktas, the club that Talisca has spent the last two seasons on loan at, has said that the Brazilian has already agreed terms with another club, who Wolves will face in the Premier League next season.

Wolves have been linked with a move for Anderson Talisca for a number of years now, but according to goal.com, the Benfica playmaker will not be moving to the Black Country club this summer.

Besiktas had wanted to bring Talisca to Turkey on a permanent basis, but following their final game of the season, Senol Gunes admitted that the Brazilian’s time at Besiktas was over.

He said: “Talisca was already gone at the winter break.”

“I’m sorry that he won’t be with us any longer. I wish he could stay for his sake and ours. He already had a deal in place.”

He was then quizzed about who exactly he had agreed a deal with, and he simply responded: “He will be rivals with Cenk Tosun.”

Cenk Tosun left Besiktas in January to join Premier League side Everton, and Gunes confirmed that Talisca would join his rival club.

It remains unclear exactly what he is defining a rival as. Of course, Everton’s main rivals are fellow Merseyside club Liverpool, but it could be that the Besiktas boss was referring to North West rivals Manchester United, who have also shown interest in Anderson Talisca for a long time now.[tps_start_button label=”Start slideshow” style=”” class=””]
