Wolves monitoring Manchester City ace

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to offer Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart a lifeline, after he missed out on a place in the England squad.

The 31-year-old had been England’s number 1 at the previous two tournaments, representing the three lions at both the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2016 European Championships in France.

However, his England career may be over, after England boss Gareth Southgate decided to leave him out of his 23 man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Joe Hart’s career at Manchester City has been over for almost two years now, since Pep Guardiola decided he wanted a ball playing goalkeeper in his team.

Hart, who has played 75 times for England in the past, spent the 2016/17 season on loan in Italy playing for Torino, whilst the 2017/18 season saw him remain in England and play for West Ham United.

His performances at the Hammers were not brilliant, and consequently he has missed out on a place in the World Cup squad.

And The Mirror reports that West Ham are not even looking to bring Hart in on a permanent basis.

Luckily for the Shrewsbury Town academy graduate, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton are both set to approach Manchester City about a permanent transfer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have just earned promotion from the Sky Bet Championship, winning the league and picking up 99 points in the process.

Wolves manager Nuno Santo is currently aiming to build a squad capable of competing in the top flight, and Joe Hart’s Premier League experience could prove invaluable.
