Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah has been voted by you as the 18th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Adomah is the 18th best player in the Football League. This is the first time he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.
Aston Villa’s first season in the Sky Bet Championship wasn’t one that is going to be remembered fondly by fans. They struggled to adjust to life in the second tier and even had to change their manager halfway through the season despite spending a lot of money on players. One of those players they splashed the cash on was Albert Adomah who actually got out of that season with some credit after being a serious creative force.
Villa did a lot better this season and Adomah was on the forefront of it. Ably assisted by new signing Robert Snodgrass, already voted onto 22nd onto this list, and a resurgent Jack Grealish, Adomah was a key reason why the Villains reached the Championship play-off final this year. He scored 14 goals in 43 appearances, making five assists on top of that. That is a very impressive tally of goals for a midfielder and a major reason why he has made it onto this list.
Adomah will hope to lead Aston Villa to victory against Fulham in the play-off final during the bank holiday weekend.
