Walsall midfielder set for potential exit from League One club

Walsall midfielder Erhun Oztumer could leave the club this transfer window according to boss Dean Keates.

Oztumer is a key player for the League One side but according to the Express and Star, the player has told club boss Dean Keates that he is considering leaving the club during this transfer window.

The attacking midfielder has been at the club for two seasons now but reportedly wants to see what other teams that he could move to and see what other offers were out there for him.

in the 26-year old’s two seasons with Walsall he has featured in nearly 100 games in all competitions for the League One club, banging in 25 goals in those games and notching 14 assists.

Speaking to the Express and Star about Oztumer, Keates said: “The club were made aware in January that Ozzy (Oztumer) wanted to see what offers were out there. In my conversation with him, I wished him all the best and thanked him for everything.

“He is going to go out and see what options are out there. But, as I’ve said to him, he knows where the football club is. I have to look elsewhere though.”

Oztumer also played for Peterborough before making the move to Walsall, although he only featured 57 times for Posh, banging in seven goals and notching six assists.

The 26-year old has featured mainly as an attacking midfielder but he can also play in the centre of midfield and the player has also played in the second striker role and on the left and right sides of midfield.
