Top 50 Players of the EFL – 27th: Aden Flint (Bristol City)

Bristol City defender Aden Flint has been voted by you as the 27th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Flint is the 27th best player in the Football League. This is the first time he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.

Flint first grabbed the attention of many fans from his performances in Sky Bet League One in the year that Bristol City marched to the title. In that season not only was a he a rock in defence but he was a fairly decent striker as well, netting 15 goals. The last two years has seen Flint perform well but not perform well enough to get on this list. But this year he truly got to show all of his talent.

Once again, he was a threat in the opposition box after he scored nine goals in 50 appearances. But while that is a fun stat that will definitely add a million or two to his value should teams come in to sign him this summer, it is his work in defence that puts him on this list. His aerial dominance means that very few repeat Flint’s own tricks aren’t repeated against the Robins. And he has been very good in shutting down attacks that come on the ground rather than the air as well.

Flint will hope to push Bristol City into the Sky Bet Championship play-offs next season.
