Sheffield United winger Mark Duffy has been voted by you as the 39th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Duffy is the 39th best player in the Football League. This is the first time that he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.
It was a great thing for Sheffield United to return to the Sky Bet Championship. But while a lot of their players had done very well in Sky Bet League One, there was a question of whether they would be able to step up to the second tier. After all, the quality of the league had changed a lot since the last time the Blades was in it and many of their team hadn’t played in this division before.
Duffy as one of the players who had a bit of experience in the Championship would have to step up and lead the way. And boy did he step up. He was a creative force throughout the season and Leon Clarke, who also may or may not feature in this list later on, would not have done as well without Duffy being behind him and working his magic. This season he made nine assists and scored three goals in his 39 appearances. His performances against the likes of Sunderland, Leeds United and Reading showed how good he could be in this league and why he will continue to be a threat for years to come.
