Wolves could be looking to bring back former fan favourite

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been made favourites to re-sign former fan favourite Bakary Sako, according to odds given out by Bet Victor.

The Sky Bet Championship winners are currently preparing for life back in the top flight of English football, and they have been given odds of 2/1 to bring Sako back to Molineux.

The Mali international first joined Wolves back in 2012, signing for a fee believed to be in the region of £2.2 million from French Ligue 1 side St Etienne.

During his first season at the Black Country club, Wolves were relegated, and Sako attracted attention from a number of clubs. However, he decided to remain at Molineux, and play in the third tier of English football.

It was in Sky Bet League One that Sako proper developed as a player, and he earned a place in the 2013/14 League One Team of the Year. In his first season back in the Sky Bet Championship after helping Wolves to promotion, he was then named in the PFA Championship team of the year.

It was his performances this year that attracted attention from Premier League clubs, and with Sako’s contract expiring at the end of the 2014/15 season, Wolves had no choice but to let his contract run.

Following the conclusion of his contract at Molineux, Bakary Sako joined Premier League side Crystal Palace in August 2015.

He has since played 50 times for the London club, scoring eight goals.

Other clubs that Bet Victor have linked with a move for Sako are Fulham, Derby County and recently relegated West Bromwich Albion.
