Top 50 Players of the EFL – 44th: Ivan Cavaleiro (Wolves)

Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro has been voted by you as the 44th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Cavaleiro is the 44th best player in the Football League.

Wolves have been the moneybags team this year and they have been able to spend their money very wisely on some top quality players, with the alleged help of a superagent of course. But shouting Jorge Mendes at the top of you lungs will not distract from the fact that Cavaleiro is a fantastic player who deserves to be on this list.

He had a big reputation coming to Wolves in 2016 having been capped by Portugal twice having been a star in their youth system. He had also played for both Monaco and Benfica. But while he didn’t make a huge impact last time out, surrounding him with more top quality players has obviously helped as he has been brilliant this year. He has been fiendish in attack, scoring nine goals and making twelve more in his 46 appearances. There are plenty of top quality performances you can point to as a reason why he is a star including the matches against Sheffield United, Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United. He is a big reason Wolves are now the Sky Bet Championship champions.

Cavaleiro will now hope to be a star in the Premier League following Wolves’ promotion.
