Millwall striker Lee Gregory has been voted by you as the 46th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Gregory is the 46th best player in the Football League. He has moved down 18 places from last year when he finished in 28th place in the Top 50 Players countdown.
Even though Gregory had done well before in the Sky Bet Championship, some did have questions about whether he would adjust back to being in the second tier. He had been fantastic in Sky Bet League One, hence why he was so high on the list last year, but after the Lions promotion it seemed fair to ask whether he would continue that form. Gregory seemed to think it was fair to respond on the pitch by continuing to score.
While he didn’t hit the heights that he did when the team was in League One, he was still able to score 10 goals in 47 appearances. He also contributed four assists showing he isn’t just a guy to finish moves but can also supply that killer ball if needed. He was able to put in some great performances throughout the season including in their 3-1 win over Sheffield United and 4-3 victory over Leeds United. He was also key to their shock rise up the Championship table when they almost made it into the play-offs.
