Nottingham Forest midfielder Matty Cash has been voted by you as the 47th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Cash is the 47th best player in the Football League. This is the first time he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.

Even though Nottingham Forest haven’t been brilliant over the last few years, they have been able to produce a lot of great players through their academy. Last time Ben Brereton made it onto this list after breaking into their first team and making a serious impact. This season it has been another Forest youngster who has been hitting all of the headlines as Cash has made it onto this list.

Much like Brereton last season, Cash was in the reserves at the start of the season before breaking into the first team and showed up some of the more senior players in the squad with his performances. In the 25 appearances he made this season, he scored twice and made three assists. Fans of Cash will remember in particular his fantastic performances against QPR, Birmingham City and Barnsley which showed that he was a great player now, never mind the future.

Forest will be fighting to keep him this summer so Cash can be a key player as they look to rise up the Championship table and perhaps break into the play-offs.
