Wigan Athletic defender Dan Burn has been voted by you as the 50th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Burn is the 50th best player in the Football League.
The central defender has been crucial to Wigan Athletic’s successes this season, and he deservedly takes his place in the top 50.
He has played in 45 of his side’s 46 Sky Bet League One games, helping the Latics to the title, and an immediate return to the second tier.
Dan Burn has formed a formidable partnership with Chey Dunkley at the heart of Paul Cook’s defence. The 6ft7″ giant is not only intimidating in stature, but his hard hitting style has struck fear into the hearts of many of Sky Bet League One’s top strikers.
As well as doing his job for Wigan Athletic at the back, Dan Burn has also popped up with the odd goal. He has scored five goals in the league this season.
The 25-year-old will be a big part of Paul Cook’s plans heading forward as they prepare for life back in the Sky Bet Championship.
Burn has plenty of experience in the second tier, and has played in the league for Fulham and Birmingham before, as well as with his current club Wigan Athletic.
His performances this season earned him a place in the PFA Sky Bet League One team of the year.
